Step 1: Fat Harvesting
The Brazilian Butt Lift uses fat taken from your body to augment your derrière. This allows for multiple body contouring benefits and helps you achieve the desired hourglass figure.
Fat is harvested from a donor area(s) on your body using gentle liposuction techniques. Fat is commonly taken from the abdomen, waist, thighs, or lower back. Fat is taken from here because these areas often collect the most significant amount of excess fat, and fat reduction here will highlight your sculpted physique.
The liposuction techniques used must be very delicate so as to not damage the fat cells. Fat cells must be living in order to successfully graft into the buttocks.
Step 2: Fat Purification
Once the fat has been removed, it is put through a series of purification processes that will isolate the strongest and most viable fat cells for transfer.
Step 3: Fat Injection
The cleansed fat is injected into various locations and depths of the buttocks to provide shapely, even butt contours.

Recovery
You will experience bruising, swelling, and redness on the buttocks and fat removal sites. A compression garment should be worn to minimize swelling and improve healing. You should limit your physical activities for three to four weeks following your procedure; Dr. Davison or Dr. Pinell will advise when you can resume your normal activities. You will need to avoid applying direct pressure to your buttocks for several weeks following your surgery. The majority of patients return to work within two weeks of treatment. Scars
The fat removal and injection process requires only small incision sites. Incisions used for fat removal are usually placed in easily concealed locations. Most patients don’t experience visible scarring. However, because each patient is unique, scarring may develop. Any scarring that does develop is likely to fade over time.
Pain

How should I prepare for my Brazilian Butt Lift?
Patients should prepare for their BBL by getting all necessary tests and evaluations (as recommended by Dr. Davison and Dr. Pinell). Patients will be asked to stop smoking for at least two weeks before and after their surgery and refrain from taking any blood-thinning medications and herbal supplements. These include aspirin, ibuprofen, and NSAIDs.
If you require these medications for your health, be sure to discuss this with your plastic surgeon as well as your primary physician.
Will I need a Brazilian Butt Lift recovery pillow?
Because of the nature and location of the BBL treatment, you will be asked to avoid sitting, lying, or putting any pressure on your buttocks for several weeks after treatment.
